Community Support

Junior League of Boca Raton is here to make a difference in the lives of people in our community. Beyond our commitment to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women and improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers, part of our vision is to partner with and support fellow nonprofits. There are many nonprofits doing wonderful work in our community and by working together, we can be a stronger catalyst for positive change.

Below are many of the ways we can help your nonprofit organization.

TRAINING WORKSHOPS

Nonprofit training offers workshops to assist nonprofits in several areas. Some of our ongoing workshops include topics ranging from financial management to grant writing and marketing. We encourage you to sign up for our transformational workshops.

GRANT LIBRARY

In addition to nonprofit workshops and volunteer assistance, the Grant Library at the Vegso Community Resource Center provides the most comprehensive tools available for nonprofits to research potential funding opportunities.

The Grant Library was established by the Junior League of Boca Raton in 2002 through the generosity of the Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties, with ongoing support offered by the City of Boca Raton. A Nonprofit Training committee was established and trained to provide expert assistance to local nonprofits. Since the opening of the library, Junior League members have offered research assistance and referral information to thousands of nonprofit leaders, those interested in starting a nonprofit, and members of the community who simply wish to be more informed and involved in serving the needs of South Palm Beach County.

The library is part of the Funding Information Network of Candid, Inc. (formerly the Foundation Center), the nation’s leading authority on private foundations and philanthropic giving. The collection consists of grants to individual databases as well as supporting print materials. Training on the library’s use is available both in-person and online, and library access is free and open to the public.

The service provided to the community by Junior League of Boca Raton members has been widely recognized, including receiving a Vision Awards from the Association of Junior Leagues International.
